were married on 27 February 1944 at the Great Synagogue, Dukes Place E1 with the reception held in the hall opposite. Both were first generation British, Toby was born in 1913 & Morris in 1908. Morris’s parents were Jacob Lustig, Austrian, who is believed to have arrived in London at Tilbury Docks in 1888 and Esther Jacobs who was born in London in the 1870’s. Toby’s parents were Mark Schreiber, Austrian, & Jenny Shaflin/Shaffler, Russian, who both arrived in London around 1901. Morris was a master tailor and Toby a ladies fashion sales assistant.
