EVA and ABRAHAM ‘ALEC’ DAVIDSON

with daughter Rayner (aged 18 months) in 1943. Eva (née Yanovitch) and Alec were married on 3 September 1939 at the Beth Hamedrash Synagogue in Stamford Hill. As this was the day war broke out, the reception was cancelled. Alec was a gents hairdresser and Eva worked as a machinist in the fur trade before she married. The couple, both born in London in 1909, lived in Hainault, Essex. Their only child, Rayner, went to grammar school and worked in the Bank of England as a bank clerk. She married Michael Barnett, a teacher, in July 1964, and had two children, Simon and Jonathan.
