Rosa and Haim were both from Krakov then part of the Austrian Empire [today Krakow – Poland].
They ran a restaurant called ‘Schenkeins, very close to Boris’ studio in Whitechapel.
The restaurant which was quite exclusive, had only one lunch menu featuring chicken soup and heizel ‘stuffed neck’.
They had five children one of whom, Rosa, worked in the restaurant.
